"Sure!" I hit the ball of light with my hand and it floats upward towards the sky. "Jink.. That's a cool name. I got stuck with a boys name."

"Nah, you didn't," he said amiably. "I'm the one who got stuck with a curse." The temperature rose a couple of degrees as he spoke.

"Well, a curse isn't that bad. A disease could have been worse... Actually they are about equal.." I said thinking. I laugh suddenly. "Wow, I'm no help, am I?"

"No, you aren't," Jink replied. He was no expert on curses, but he did know that his made him a danger. Not to himself, he was used to it by now and cold had never troubled him anyway. No. It was others of whom he was wary of; not because he feared them, but because he feared for them.

Jink rolled with the impact, fear for the dog releasing more winter energies and the temperature dropped again to freezing. He twisted his body so that the animal was thrown off of him, with minimal contact.

Jink went back to the frozen river. Sitting down, he could feel the tension in the ice. Not all of the river was frozen, just this bend. Soon enough, if it didn't thaw out first, he was sure the tension would build up to a breaking point.

I was curious. "If I step onto te ice, what would happen?" I ask, walking to the edge. I yawned slightly and look at Jink, and then to the ice. "Are you doing that on purpose?"

"It won't break," he replied steadily. "Not while I'm here. The ice continues to thicken, even now."

BIC: I stepped catiously onto the ice. I walked slowly towards Jink. I sat down across from him. "How do you do it?" I replied, softly.

Jink raised a hand like he was blowing a kiss and blew softly. A red rose, its petals covered in white frost seemed to spring from nothingness into his hand. With a sweeping bow, he handed it to her. "My curse, fair maiden. Winter is with me always." He rubbed the thick scar that ran through his right eye, thinking.

"That doesn't have to be a bad thing." I said calmly. I blushed a faint scarlet, and took the rose. I held it gingerly in my hand, looking at it. I noticed the white frost, but I smiled softly.

"Oh sure. If I stay in one place to long, everything dies for the cold so I have to always be on the move. It feels like I'm going to wind up dying of thirst because every time I get near a liquid it solidifies. I force myself to stay away from people most of the time because I don't want to give them frostbite." Jink sighed, "I don't know what possessed me to come to Camp. It's too risky."

"I won't get frostbite. Not if I have light." I said, I didn't want to make light appear in my palm, though. "Have you tried controlling your powers? I migh work with practice." I said simply, "It doesn't have to be a bad curse."

He shook his head. "It's not a power, it just happens. I've tried controlling it, believe me... but it just makes it worse. It's like bottling up emotions. It just explodes at odd times if I try to contain it." Jink sounded bitter. "After a while you just give up and accept it as your fate."

I frown, "Does ligh bother you much?" I ask curiously, tracing the texture on the red rose. I rub my finger against the white frost, and smile. "Your not that bad, I can tell you that much."

"I'm used to it by now," he muttered. "It bothers just about everyone else though, and... well... I'm used to an endless winter. It's been my life since day one. It the fact that it troubles everyone else that bothers me. Heck," he laughed softly without humor, his breath coming out in white clouds. "I hate it, but not for me."
